Seriously we’re being this dumb stuff again?! First of all, the idea that slash is just for straight girls has so many things wrong with it I can’t even think of how to begin on that topic. But to try and keep this short and with very little use of expletives, I’m going to use myself as an example. I’m still not entirely sure what my orientation is, but I consider myself a lesbian-leaning pansexual to cover as many possibilities as I can. And I like not only femslash (which I’ll admit to being a large projection of me), but also het and slash. You know why? BECAUSE MY SEXUALITY DOES NOT PIGEON-HOLE ME TO ONLY ONE TYPE OF ROMANCE I’D LIKE TO SEE OR READ ABOUT! I like chemistry, I like seeing anyone becoming closer together and developing their relationship. I don’t give a shit what the characters genders are. I can talk about whatever relationship I want, and when jokes like this pop up, it makes me uncomfortable because it makes me feel as if someone is seriously thinking, “Well, you seek relationships with women, so we’re going to treat you differently because you couldn’t possibly understand a romance between two men.” Why do you keep doing this crap, fanficflamingo?! Do you realize the horrible stereotypes you enforce through this type of stuff? Screw this, I’m off to write some slash fic and going to squee about it like any normal person because I am me and not my (mostly) lesbian orientation. Oh god, is OP serious?  Hey, folks, NEWSFLASH. What your gender and sexuality is does NOT determine what you ship. Lesbians don’t find males disgusting, nor do they all find slash disgusting. Gay men do not find females disgusting, nor femmeslash. Straight people can ship slash, gay people can ship het. WHAT ABOUT THIS IS SO HARD TO GRASP? I really don’t have much more relevant things to add that everyone else hasn’t covered. But just. Damn. Why was that even approved to be posted? That’s like, the most disgusting thing ever. 8C I’m never going to understand the mindset of OH WELL YOU’RE [sexuality] SO YOU AREN’T ALLOWED TO SHIP [het/slash]. Shipping is a free for all, how is that difficult to understand.
